Your community pharmacist may be able to help you with the signing of statutory documents and certification of copies of important documents. Pharmacists generally are authorised to certify that documents are true copies of originals.

Different rules apply in different States and Territories and for different documents, so it is important to check with your pharmacist about what the requirements are for your State or Territory.

Copies of documents provided in support of an application, or other purposes required by the National Law, must be certified as true copies of the original documents. A certified copy is a copy of an original document such as a birth certificate, marriage certificate or proof of identity that has been authorised (or stamped) as being a true copy of an original.

Your pharmacist may also be authorised to witness your signature on documents.  It is important that you do not sign the document before taking it to the pharmacy as the pharmacist must physically witness you signing the document in their presence.
